September 20 - Disney World Day 3 - Magic Kingdom

Hello Magic Kingdom

Our first ride - Space Mountain.  This is an extremely popular ride so it was our aim to get in as many rides as we could before it got crowded.  Once a ride gets crowded you can be waiting 45 minutes or more for a ride.  It is fortunate that Disney have introduced a 'fast pass' so that you can use your Disney Card to obtain one to skip the long cues in the slow lane.  We took full advantage of this as often as we could.  It worked out pretty well.  The only catch is that you cannot get hold of two 'fast pass' rides at a time.  The machine knows and will give out a ticket that states that time you can purchase another 'fast pass' ride ticket.

Space Mountain shuttles launch - we are not far away from getting on at this point.  As you can see the line is quite small.

And a view looking back from Tomorrowland toward Cinderella's Castle

Hey - it's a small world after all!

Australia features

Pictured below is the  Peter Pan ride.  It doesn't seem to have changed at all since we last visited the Magic Kingdom all those years ago

And now for something completely spooky!  The Haunted House.

The floors creak, the doors squeak, and a mouse goes a scuttling along the floor,
The ghosts moan, the witch groans and you feel like running out the door,
The rooms stretch, the lights dim, the darkness consumes your living soul,
The bats screech, the ride complete, the experience has taken it's toll!

Time for something more cheery.  The Hall of Presidents.  Robotic animation of all the presidents of the USA and featuring the history of the USA of course.

The Hall of Presidents -  This is a rug that takes pride of place in the centre of the main foyer. It's a pretty snappy looking rug don't you think?

David, Walt and Micky.  (David left that lovey NY hat at the Hoop Dee Doo Review)  if anyone finds it can they contact us and we can arrange to have it posted home :-)  Thanks heaps.

Decided that you would like something a bit more exciting at the Magic Kingdom?  Try  "Thunder Mountain Railroad".  If you were feeling a bit weary waiting in the line for this ride the ride will indeed wake you up.  it is well worth waiting for.

The Kobus family.  Peek a boo Jan  ;-)  Catch me if you can. Dinner time catch up.

A quick 'fast track' ride before dinner - The Jungle Safari

8pm and time for the electric light show.  Spectacular!

A great shot of the Magic Kingdom castle before the fireworks.

No sooner the fireworks started the Orlando heavens opened.  The fireworks continued regardless and they were wonderful.  Thumbs up indeed for an awesome fireworks display in the worst thunderstorm.  It also included a guest appearance fly by by Tinkerbell.  Lucky the lightning did not get to her.

We were saturated but we went home happy.
